Google Zürich - Internal Web Application

A slide, a games room, a 'chill-out' aquarium, and plenty of free food. We delivered a solution to help Google's managers evaluate the creativity, and productivity, of people working in this amazing office.

Googlezurich

In 2008 Google launched a radically different office in Zürich, Switzerland. The building was designed for – and partly by – the 300 engineers who were to work there: slides and fireman poles between floors, games rooms, a ‘chill-out’ aquarium, plenty of free food, lots of whiteboards. The idea was simple: put some of the world’s best engineers in the world’s best workplace. Since then their revenue, profits, and brand awareness have grown considerably; equally, so has the size of their workforce.

Google wanted to scientifically evaluate the productivity benefits they were seeing and contracted in some of the world’s leading workplace consultants for the task. The key to any digital survey is to achieve the highest response rate possible and this relies upon a fast and easy-to-use interface to make the survey engaging and interesting. It’s also got to be good enough to impress some of the most intelligent people in the software engineering field – people who are no strangers to statistical analysis. 27stars provided its technical expertise to build, deploy, support, and maintain the survey system needed to do the job.
